Denise’s Iwi affiliations are to Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Whakaue and Muaupoko. Denise currently holds the position of Kaihautū for Marae Based Studies at Te Wānanga o Raukawa and was previously Kaihautū of Te Tari Reo.
Denise has been employed by Te Wānanga o Raukawa for 15 years. Denise also served as the Manager/Secretary of the Ōtaki and Porirua Trusts Board for 10 years from 1998. Denise is a strong proponent of te reo Māori.
She is actively involved with the many issues and developments affecting Ngāti Maiotaki and Ngā Hapu o Ōtaki. Denise and her Tahiwi whānau maintain their close association with Raukawa Marae in Ōtaki. Denise is a member of Te Rūnanga o Raukawa.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]
Willis Katene, Ngāti Toa Rangatira, Ngāruahinerangi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, currently holds the position of Te Tai Hauāuru Regional Manager for Te Puni Kōkiri.
Willis was previously Kaihautū of Iwi and Hapū Studies at Te Wānanga o Raukawa. She is currently a board member on Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira, chair of their finance committee and a member of their education committee.
She is also trustee for Ōrotokare: Art, Story, Motion and a member of the Ōtaki and Porirua Trusts Board. Willis has a Bachelor of Arts from Victoria University and holds a master degree in management from Te Wānanga o Raukawa. Willis and her husband Huia Winiata have four children.
Rachael is from Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Huia and Ngāti Pareraukawa. Rachael chairs the Ngatokowaru Marae Committee, is a Raukawa Marae Trustee and member of Te Rūnanga o Raukawa. Rachael is also a registered Justice of the Peace.
Rachael has a background in governance, teaching, research and management. As a recipient of a Ōtaki and Porirua Trusts Board Scholarship in the 1960s, Rachael attended a Māori Anglican Boarding School.
Rachael is keen to contribute to the development of the Board and share a vision for a future which ensures the land left by our ancestors is a business we can be proud of. She is keen to explore organic farming on the Ōtaki lands and varied innovative investment opportunities for the Trusts Board.
Nō Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Huia, Ngāti Pareraukawa, Ngāti Tūranga tēnei. Hera is the Kaihautū of Te Whare Tūhono that services students and staff on the operational side of Te Wānanga o Raukawa.
She is also the Secretary for the Paranui Marae Trustees Committee and the Treasurer for Himatangi 1A & 2AHC Trust.
A previous Ōtaki and Porirua Trusts Board scholarship recipient, Hera appreciates the opportunity to give back to the kaupapa of the Ōtaki Porirua Trusts for the benefit of our future generations.
Hera has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Policy and Māori Studies and is passionate about supporting aspirations for health and wealth for whānau, hapū and iwi.
